Come Join the Festivities!

While the commonality between a giant Waterford Crystal and an 800-pound beach ball is not obvious, the season offers a clue. On December 31, Panama City Beach will embrace its seaside roots with the 5th annual Beach Ball Drop hosted by Pier Park. The Beach Ball Drop event represents what the destination is all about -- white sand beaches, family togetherness and just plain fun.

Ring in the new year with Panama City Beach!

The festivities begin on New Year’s Eve at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a Family Celebration complete with prize drawings, stilt walkers, mascots and the kid-friendly Family Beach Ball Drop, consisting of more than 10,000 inflatable beach balls released onto Pier Park Drive on the boardwalk.

This leads into the Midnight Celebration featuring live entertainment, fireworks and the New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop. This free annual event is known for its glowing 800-pound beach ball drop at midnight.
