b) Trusted friend, responsibly supportive in social situations; may go so far as to introduce his friend to attractive members of the opposite sex, volunteer to be a designated driver, make a morning coffee/bagel run after a night out, etc
c) Will take one for the team and sit through boring double-date dinner with incessantly texting young lady so his friend can romance the winner (thank goodness for football on restaurant TV).

You are NOT Superman – Know Your Physical Limits (you wouldn’t look good in a cape, anyways)

If you’re not a strong swimmer, don’t try to pretend you are Michael Phelps…

Also, the laws of gravity apply here. If you hang off a balcony, you risk serious injury, even death. Don’t do it! No one is impressed with daredevil antics.

Think you look cool by drinking an entire case of beer in 30 minutes? Well you definitely don’t look cool when you get sick later. Or too intoxicated to remember the name of the girl you’ve been talking to for the past hour…or your own name, for that matter. In case you missed the memo, drunken guys are a huge turnoff.

Two words: Beer Goggles. You may not remember what she looked like, but you can bet your friends will never let you forget. Drinking too much impairs your judgment.

Speak up! Be the best wingman you can be by cutting off your friend before he’s had too much. If it’s too late, be sure he gets back to the room safely.

By the Numbers
The average cost of getting a ticket in Florida for public intoxication, open container, driving while under the influence or possession of an illegal substance can be equivalent to a year’s tuition at your University. Bottom line is, YOU CAN’T AFFORD IT! And besides, wouldn’t you rather spend that fourth year in college with your friends?

Stay Safe

Legal drinking age is 21
Do not leave a bar or restaurant with anyone you don’t know
Have swimming for daylight hours
Food is your friend: be sure to consume a hearty meal before a big night out
If you plan to drive anywhere, always plan to have a designated driver. Take turns rotating the DD role throughout the week. And yes, you can get a DWI while driving 5 mph on the famed Miracle Strip
Have all of your friend’s cell phone numbers programmed into your phone, as well as the number to your hotel or condo

Have fun, just don’t check your brain at the door. Common sense goes a long way. We want you back next year!
