Nothing goes with the 4th of July quite like sun and fun (and fireworks). Maybe that's why people love coming to Panama City Beach to celebrate Independence Day so much!

Just hanging out on the beach, enjoying some good food and the perks that come with being alive in America, you know you're already doing the holiday right. But there's so much going on in Panama City Beach that we just had to put together a quick guide to what's going on in PCB for the 4th of July holiday.

Things get started early on July 3, at the Aaron Bessan Park Summer Concert Series. This is a chance to preview the All-American Jazz ensemble brought to you by the Air National Guard's Band of the South... the full band will be playing the next night, but the Thursday night Summer Concert Series is always fun, so if you're already in town, plan to be there!

July 4th, wake up bright and early and proud to be an American! The best way to celebrate? Join The Color Run winding through Pier Park and be part of the "Happiest 5k on the Planet!" The race starts at 8 a.m.

If you're not quite up for a morning run, a more solemn salute to the soldiers whose sacrifices make America's freedom possible is taking place at the Veteran's Memorial Park (in Aaron Bessant Park) at 9 a.m.

Just a little later, you can bring the family out to Pier Park's neighborhood-style block party from 11 - 5, where children's activities plus tasty food and drinks will make everyone in your group glad to be an American.

And the night ends with a crescendo, as the full ensemble of the Air National Guard's Band of the South will kick off a patriotic musical performance at 7 p.m., and play along with the biggest fireworks show on the Gulf of Mexico as rockets (red glare and otherwise) fire simultaneously from the City Pier and the County Pier at 9 p.m. It'll be quite a show - Bring a picnic blanket, some snacks, and settle in for a classically American 4th of July!

In most towns, that'd be the end of the 4th of July fun, but in Panama City Beach we keep the fun going on July 5th, with two more fireworks displays: the Freedom Rocks celebration in the Grand Lagoon area, and the Light up the Gulf Fireworks Show at the Boardwalk Beach Resort. There are events lined up all day long, but make sure you're in position for the 9 p.m. fireworks shows. For even more events, click: USA! USA! USA!
