Redfish Staycation
Capt. Justin Leake is joined by professional angler Fred Myers -- three-time Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) Redfish Tour champion and winner of nine IFA events -- for a day of "pleasure" fishing Panama City Beach's inshore waters. Myers stresses the importance of using quality equipment because a main objective when fishing with artificial baits is casting distance. Other keys to redfish success are using the correct size line, rigging baits to mimic natural behavior and drifting into areas where fish are located instead of running into those areas under motorized power. Myers describes how the underwater environment affects the redfish's coloring and explains why their tails often take on a blue tint.
