Fly-By Tarpon

In late spring and early summer, one of Florida's premier game fish - Tarpon - migrate through the waters off Panama City Beach. Capt. Justin Leake and local fishing guide Steve Bachman head for the Gulf of Mexico in search of the fish known for its strength, stamina and fighting ability. Justin describes the Tarpon's feeding habits and why it's often difficult to get them to bite. Steve shows us some of the best Tarpon baits and discusses how hook technology has improved the rate of successful hook-ups and made it possible to experience the adrenaline rush of fighting Tarpon on light tackle. The show also features some of Panama City Beach's events and activities that anglers can enjoy when not on the water.
