By Land:

From the North:

Highways 231, 331 and 79 lead directly to the Gulf of Mexico and Panama City Beach. All highways easily access Interstate 10.

From the West:

Hwy 98 provides a scenic route into Panama City Beach, or take I-10 eastbound to Hwy 331, 79 or 231.

From the East:

Hwy. 98 will bring you directly to the beach, or take I-10 westbound to Hwy 231, 79 or 331.

By Air:

 

The Panama City-Bay County International Airport is conveniently located approximately 10 minutes from Panama City Beach Florida. The 55,000 square foot terminal features six gates, a spacious departure lounge, ample seating and a panoramic view of the airfield. The main concourse also features a gift shop, restaurant/bar and ATM machine. Additional services include ground transportation services, rental car agencies and short/long-term parking facilities.

In May 2010 the brand new international airportwill be opening in Panama City Beach! This state-of-the-art, eco-conscious airport will offer a 10,000 foot runway, the longest in Northwest Florida! Jets and aircraft of all sizes will be booking Panama City Beach flights, so mark your calendars. The airport will have dozens of features that make it environmentally friendly, and the goal is to make its terminal the first in the nation certified to LEED standards under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program of the U.S. Green Building Council. 

 

Getting Around:

Once you've arrived, there are only two basic directions you need to know during your Panama City Beach trip: east and west.

Panama City Beach is divided into three sections: West, Middle and East beaches. U.S. Alt. 98, known as Front Beach Road is the main drive that runs along the Gulf of Mexico.  Can’t beat the view along Front Beach, where you’ll find condos, restaurants and white sand beaches galore - a lovely addition to your Panama City Beach trip.

U.S. 98, or Panama City Beach Pkwy., is the main interior road, where you’ll find an increased speed limit and fewer traffic lights. This is the business road, while Front Beach is the scenic route.

Both of these roads run throughout the city. Restaurants, shops and hotels will note their closest body of water as either bay or beach.

Panama City Beach transportation is simple and readily available. Cabs run throughout the beach, and Bay Town Trolley is an easy and cost-effective way to get around with multiple stops across the city to make your Panama City Beach trip easier.
