Panama City Beach Announces New Developments on the Horizon for 2019

                PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla., December 4, 2018 –Visit Panama City Beach is looking ahead to 2019 with new developments that are sure to continue to upgrade and enhance the destination. From two new accommodation announcements including a 13-acre beach resort as well as a new airport hotel to service an increased influx of airlines, to a $37-million-dollar, world-class sports complex, Panama City Beach’s newest additions are sure to maintain the community’s reputation as a year-round vacation spot.

Margaritaville Beach Resort

Margaritaville Holdings and Premier Development Group have announced a partnership to develop a new 13-acre destination resort in Panama City Beach. Margaritaville Beach Resort will combine a full-service hotel, innovative amenity park, function space, several signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts, retail, residential properties for sale and more. 

The resort will feature Margaritaville’s casual-luxe design including a fresh color palette inspired by the natural landscape of picturesque Panama City Beach. With flexible occupancy options, guestrooms will cater to both couples and family groups, all offering scenic views of the surrounding landscape. The resort is expected to begin a phased opening in Spring 2021.

New Hotel at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport

The St. Joe Company has recently announced that a new hotel is coming to Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. The hotel, the brand of which is yet to be released, will include 110-125 rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, meeting space and more. This property will be located adjacent to the airport within what is already St. Joe’s 110,500-acre development known as the Bay-Walton Sector Plan and is anticipated to help service a more than 300% increase in passenger traffic to the airport since 2009. This hotel announcement constitutes the third new hotel for The St. Joe Company, including the 250-room Embassy Suites at Pier Park (which is also expected to break ground in 2019) and the 124-room TownePlace Suites in Panama City Beach, which broke ground in October 2018.
Panama City Beach Sports Complex

Estimated to open summer 2019, the Panama City Beach Sports Complex will offer visitors on ‘play-cation’ a place to enjoy multiple athletic pastimes including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, football, flag football, baseball and softball. Specifically, the brand-new $37-million world class sports complex will include dedicated tournament buildings, two stadium championship fields with seating for 1,500 and a 13-field complex made up of nine turf and four grass fields. Details of the opening including special festivities for Bay County residents will be announced closer to summer 2019.
