Kayaking, Canoeing & SUP

Experience Panama City Beach from a whole new perspective by getting out on the water. Whether you're gliding across Grand Lagoon, exploring the untouched shoreline of Shell Island, or paddling through a peaceful coastal dune lake, kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding offer unforgettable ways to connect with nature and enjoy the destination's scenic beauty.

Perfect for families, couples, solo adventurers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike, these low-impact water activities allow visitors to slow down, take in the surroundings, and discover some of Panama City Beach's most beautiful natural areas.

Explore by Kayak or Canoe

Kayaks and canoes provide easy access to waterways that can't be experienced from shore. Paddle through the calm waters of Grand Lagoon, venture toward Shell Island, or explore the unique ecosystems found throughout the area.

St. Andrews State Park offers kayak and paddleboard rentals on a seasonal basis, and so does Camp Helen State Park. One of the many local outfitters, Coldwater Excursions, rents out paddleboards and kayaks and provides paddle tours of nearby creeks and streams.

Stand Up & Explore

Stand-up paddleboarding is another way to explore the clear waters of Panama City Beach.

Mr. Surf's Surf Shop has been a local institution since 1980. In addition to a daily surf report, the shop offers paddleboard and skim and surfboard rentals. Add on to your SUP experience with Paradise Adventures by signing up for the adventure tour, which includes a catamaran ride, inflatable water slides, and trampolines, as well as kayak and paddleboard rentals.

Find Your Inner Zen on Water

Another way to enjoy the calming waters of PCB and reconnect with nature and your inner peace is through stand-up paddleboard yoga.

Schedule a paddleboard yoga sesh with instructor Heather Wiles, who runs Namaste, A Mermaids Oasis, and hosts classes on the water, as well as on the white-sandy beaches of Panama City Beach. Yoga Elements also offers standup paddleboard yoga classes, retreats, and rentals.

Hours and days of operation vary and it is recommended to book a class or rental ahead of time for whatever outfitter you use.

From the calm waters of Grand Lagoon to the scenic shoreline of Shell Island and the rare beauty of the area, there's always something new to discover from the seat of a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. Whether you're seeking adventure, wildlife encounters, or simply a peaceful escape on the water, Panama City Beach offers endless opportunities to paddle, explore, and connect with nature. Grab your paddle and set out to experience the destination from a whole new point of view.
