The Capt. Anderson III has Fun~ Family~ Adventures you are sure to love!
“Shell Island Eco-Tour & Dolphin Encounter”
This 3-1/2 hour fun-packed sightseeing cruise begins right at the foot of the Grand Lagoon bridge. As the journey heads out through the lagoon, the deckhands will show you how to feed the seagulls from the railing of the covered upper deck on this large and comfortable boat. Keep your camera ready and eyes open to see ospreys nesting and diving for fish, dolphins trying to steal fish from the live bait wells, and lots of blue herons and pelicans hanging out on the pilings!
The boat heads into scenic St. Andrews Bay which has some of the most diverse marine life of any bay in North America! During this Seafari Eco-Tour portion of the sightseeing cruise, you will be able to watch a trawl net pulled in and have an up close and personal interaction with local sea life. Have you ever held a cow fish or puffer fish? Seen the underneath of a horse shoe crab? Felt a barrel jellyfish? Seen a live sea horse? The wonders never cease!
Then we head over to a private dock at beautiful, pristine Shell Island, a long and narrow barrier island that separates St. Andrew’s Bay from the Gulf of Mexico. There you will have a full hour to relax and soak in the sun, go swimming or shelling, or explore the diverse area. Turtle nesting areas and sand dunes are cherished and protected on this uninhabited island, which make it a special treat for all future visitors. Any uninhabited shell is yours; likewise, all sea life goes back in the water.
As with every sightseeing cruise on the Capt. Anderson III, we’ll all go watch the wild Bottlenose Dolphins frolic and play in their natural habitat during the DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER. St. Andrew’s Bay is home to a large population of Wild Bottlenose Dolphins and encountering these beautiful, intelligent creatures is very common. All passengers are lively engaged in the “Dolphin Watch”, and when they are sighted the captain positions the boat so everybody can view them playing in their natural habitat.
“Sunset Dolphin Encounter”
After your day out on the beach or having a grand adventure here in the Emerald Coast, there’s nothing better than going out on a relaxing cruise in St. Andrews Bay where you can listen to fun music, watching the dolphins play and then taking in a spectacular SUNSET on the glistening water!
Our Captain will point out the historical landmarks of the area and take you to all the good spots for an awesome DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER. This sublime evening cruise is 1-1/2 hours long and the departure time changes a couple times throughout the season to make sure we get you coming back thru the Grand Lagoon at sunset.
MARCH thru OCTOBER ~ Call for sunset times
