Maybe your car is loaded to the brim with beach stuff like swimsuits, flip flops and umbrellas, or you're flying down to Panama City Beach with only a few things and an open mind, either way, if you and your family are coming to PCB, there's no shortage of family-friendly activities. We want you to have the very best vacation possible, so here's a few things you can do while enjoying our turquoise waters and white-sand beaches:

Get Active

There's many ways to stay active on the beach. Various beach access points and restaurants have volleyball nets that are open to the public. Grab a delicious lunch at Schooners or Sharky's then hit the sand for some volleyball. You can also go to the City Pier, where multiple nets can be found.

If you aren't a fan of volleyball, you can always grab a football to throw around or a soccer ball to kick. You might even have some locals asking if they can join in on the fun with you!

Build a Sandcastle

There's nothing better than some good-old fashioned sandcastle building. Grab a bucket and get to work, you can even make a competition out of it. Pro-tip: damp sand makes the best sandcastles!

Go for a Swim

There's many things you can do in our beautiful gulf waters. Grab some floats and relax in the water, or bring a boogie board for the more adventurous families! You can even bring masks and snorkels if you want to catch a glimpse of some of the sea life just under the surface.

Fish for Some Fun

Fishing is a great family-friendly activity that almost anyone can participate in! Whether you want to catch something or not, dropping a fishing line in the Gulf can be a great bonding experience. For more information on fishing guidelines click here.

Go Crab Hunting

Many people don't know this, but if you go down on the beach at night, you'll see hundreds of ghost crabs crawling all over the shore. Grab a flashlight and net and make a game out of who can catch the most crabs. It's best to release them after catching them, though, they like their home on the beach!
