National Safe Boating Week is May 21-27, and we want to make sure our residents and visitors are staying safe while enjoying our turquoise waters here in Panama City Beach. The U.S. Coast Guard is reminding people of a few things that keep you safe while on a boat:

  • Always wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket
  • Take a boating safety course
  • File a float plan with someone you trust
  • Don't drink and boat, alcohol is the leading contributing factor in fatal boating accidents
  • Make sure you have all the required safety gear

Charters and Cruises Available

Many fishing charters and Shell Island cruises have reopened and are great ways to get you safely to and from Shell Island or out on the water without the worry of having to drive yourself. Capt. Anderson's Marina has a variety of cruises and charters for you to choose from:

Capt. Anderson Head Boat

This 10 hour deep sea fishing trip is a great way to get out in the Gulf of Mexico with some of the best fishermen in our area. It's $90.00 for a fisher and $35.00 for a rider and includes bait, tackle, rod, reel, license, tax and even breakfast, lunch and beverages.

PCB Shell Island Express Ferries

These ferries are one of the easiest ways to get to Shell Island for a fun-filled day. You can bring everything you need for a day on the boat, like a cooler, snacks and sunscreen. Shuttles from the marina start at 9:30 am and go until 3:30 pm. It's only $22.00 for an adult, $12 for children ages 2-11 and $20.00 for seniors and military.

Capt. Anderson III Sightseeing Boat

The Capt. Anderson III has an enclosed and climate controlled lower deck with viewing windows all the way around, complete with a snack bar, restrooms and an open air viewing deck on the bow. This 3 ½ hour trip will take you to Shell Island so keep your camera ready and eyes open to see ospreys nesting and diving for fish, dolphins trying to steal fish from the live bait wells, and lots of blue herons and pelicans hanging out on the pilings!

Charter Boat Freedom

This Capt. Anderson's charter boat is just one of many that you can book for a day to take out family or friends. Each charter boat is privately owned, allowing a unique experience for those wanting a deep sea fishing trip tailored to what you and your group wants. Each captain sets their own rates and schedules so reach out to Capt. Anderson's Marina for more information.
