Panama City Beach is known for its sun-soaked shores and vibrant beach culture, but this picturesque coastal haven has a surprise in store for those seeking excitement after dark: The New Year's Eve Beach Ball Drop presented by Coca-Cola! Join us in ushering in 2024: Real. Fun. Beach. style.
Double the Celebration
On December 31st, Panama City Beach comes alive with not one but two fantastic opportunities to welcome the New Year. Pier Park's streets transform into a lively venue for free live music, entertainment, fireworks, and a contagious spirit of celebration.
Two Countdowns, Double the Fun
For those who can't wait until midnight or simply want to experience the countdown twice, the Beach Ball Drops offer two time celebrations: one at 8:00 p.m. and the other at midnight. Families with young children and night owls alike have the chance to celebrate the New Year in style, surrounded by Panama City Beach's pristine waterfront and abundant amenities.
Entertainment Under the Stars
Leading up to the midnight countdown, bands take the stage, keeping the crowd entertained and building anticipation for the grand moment. As the clock strikes midnight, a massive, glowing beach ball descends, marking the start of 2024, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Panama City Beach's NYE party rivals even the famous Times Square celebration!
Festivities Begin: The festivities kick off at 5:35 p.m. with a live performance by Saved by the 90's on the concert stage in front of the Celebration Tower. The well-lit streets in and around Pier Park are closed to traffic, creating a safe and family-friendly environment for revelers to enjoy the area's largest street festival. Explore shopping, savor delicious food from vendors, and discover games and activities for children.
Kids' Beach Ball Drop: At 8:00 p.m., young and old alike gather on S. Pier Park Drive to participate in the countdown. "Ten... Nine... Eight..." When the crowd reaches zero, the city's first Beach Ball Drop of the evening commences, with a cascade of 10,000 inflated beach balls descending from above. It's a magical moment reminiscent of warm snowflakes gently falling on festival-goers. The night sky comes alive with fireworks, and the atmosphere remains vibrant as beach balls bounce overhead.
More Live Music: Stick around after the initial spectacle as the Will Thompson Band takes the stage at 8:20 p.m., followed by The Life Atlantic at 10:00 p.m. All live music at the Pier Park stage is free and open to the public, promising to set the perfect musical backdrop for ringing in the New Year.
Beach Ball Drop from Celebration Tower: As midnight approaches, Celebration Tower takes center stage. Towering over the city since 2016, this ten-foot-taller structure than the iconic One Times Square in Manhattan boasts a unique feature—a nearly ten-foot-diameter beach ball perched atop it! This colossal beach ball plays a pivotal role in one of Florida's most distinctive New Year's traditions.
Epic Countdown: As tens of thousands of revelers join the countdown's final ten-second chorus, the second Beach Ball Drop of the evening begins. The gigantic beach ball descends gracefully down Celebration Tower, marking the arrival of the New Year. Simultaneously, a second round of fireworks ignites from Russell-Fields Pier, stretching over a quarter-mile into the Gulf of Mexico. This picturesque setting provides the perfect backdrop to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one with bright lights and the resounding cheers of Panama City Beach, "The World's Most Beautiful Beaches."
Panama City Beach's New Year's Eve Beach Ball Drop is a spectacular way to usher in 2024, offering double the fun, live music, breathtaking fireworks, and unforgettable memories in a picturesque coastal setting. Don't miss the chance to be a part of this unforgettable celebration!
